Production of wide format engineering rolls moved from Tufco’s Dallas operations to Newton, NC, plant.
Tufco Technologies, Inc. purchased Hamco, Inc. Since HAMCO was a recognized name in the industry, the name HAMCO became a registered trademark and brand for stock products.
HAMCO purchases Hickory Business Forms and adds an additional 30,000 s.f. to accommodate equipment and finishing.
Shipping and distribution added to Newton location allowing HAMCO to pre-stage needed inventory for same day/next day delivery.
POS and cash register receipt rolls are added to offerings.
Distributorship program established with five distributors.
Another 30,000 s.f. of warehousing finished goods and shipping space added to existing building.
HAMCO purchases 15 acres and expands to a 60,000 s.f. building to house manufacturing, shipping and receiving.
An extensive fire forces HAMCO operations to move to another location in Newton. The plant was back in operation in less than a week to continue to serve customer orders.
Hamco, Inc. is established in January. Demand from companies throughout the east and northeast United States quickly dictated two shifts with four machines to effectively respond to orders realized once doors opened.
The vision of HAMCO is born as T.D. “Pat” Hamlin and six other investors put plans into place to establish a roll converting plant in downtown Hickory, NC.
